야후가 이메일 검색전문업체인 스타타랩을 인수하면서 이메일 프로그램을 기반으로 한 검색시장에 뛰어들었다고 로이터통신이 보도했다.스타타랩은 이메일 사용자들이 받은 편지함에서 이메일과 첨부파일을 검색하고 일정을 공유할 수 있는 `블룸바(Bloomba)”라는 프로그램을 개발한 업체로 블룸바는 마이크로소프트(MS) 아웃룩과의 경쟁을 목표로 하고 있다. 야후측은 인수가 지난 20일 완료되었다고 밝혔지만 인수가격은 공개하지 않았다.

한편, MS는 지난 7월 이메일 검색전문업체인 룩아웃을 인수한 바 있다.
